The Coventry Cultural Education Partnership has now been operating for over 3 years. In that time the landscape has changed for many of the organisations and individuals involved in CCEP, and for many of the children and young people we seek to support and empower.
This requires careful and detailed thought about how we will continue to function in the coming years. The CCEP Steering Group has been working with consultants Munira Thobani and Geoff Wilcocks as well as Ben Sandbrook from Word Pencil to produce a draft governance model for the CCEP; a model that will:
-
maximise the capacity, diversity and connectivity of the partnership
-
continue and develop further its role as a leading learning and cultural network in Coventry, making a significant contribution to cultural strategy, policy and planning
-
attract funding from local, regional and national bodies
-
engage and retain the enthusiasm of cultural and learning ‘champions’ in city schools, colleges and cultural organisations (e.g. universities, museums, libraries, theatres, performing arts groups, visual arts, digital arts, freelancers etc.)
-
develop clear roles, responsibilities and accountabilities within the partnership
-
provide for safeguarding, data protection and other key organisational policies and norms
The CCEP will meet on 9th March to consider proposals for a new governance structure; one that will re-energise our Culutral Champions network and place Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at the heart of our partnerships and future development.
