Early Years - Episode 1

This episode takes an in-depth look at arts and culture in the Early Years; our three brilliant guests talk about their own experiences of how creativity and cultural learning can inspire and develop the children and young people we work for and with.

Our expert guests for this podcast are Sarah Fisher of the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, Baljit Gill from Imagine Creative Early Years in Coventry and Liz Bale, Early Years Learning and Development Advisor for Coventry City Council.

Our host is Sarah Worth, CCEP Chair and Executive Director of Highly Sprung Performance.

Green Futures - Episode 2

This episode features expert guests Dom Breadmore from Ludic Rooms, Kathi Leahy from Imagineer Productions and Anna Bright from Sustainability West Midlands who share their experiences and thoughts about how cultural learning and partnership can help engage young people in an issue that can sometimes feel overwhelming.

Further episodes will be available over the coming weeks, exploring issues and themes of arts, culture and creativity for wellbeing, diversity and inclusion - all with a focus on the power of partnerships.

Wellbeing - Episode 3

In increasingly difficult times, young people - and the practitioners that work with them - need their wellbeing supported more than ever.

In our third episode, we’re joined by Kyla Craig (Art Riot Collective), Sarah Grove (Grapevine) and Kerry Harvey (The Starfish Collaborative) to discuss the subject of wellbeing, and the role that arts and cultural partnerships play in supporting young people to thrive, feel safe, grow, and express themselves with more confidence. Together, we’ll also explore how we can support practitioners in this process too.

Diversity - Episode 4

Coventry was named one of the UK’s most diverse cities in September 2022, but we still have so much work to do in making every young person feel included.

In the final episode of this series, Reena Jaisiah (Caste Away Arts), Laura Nyahuye (Maokwo), and Anthony Ruck (Culture Central) discuss how arts and cultural partnerships can transform the lives of young people in our brilliant city so that they feel fully seen, heard and represented.

CCEP Film

DancingWorking with our friends at No Class Creations and Let's Animate, the CCEP has now produced a new film aimed at current and future Cultural Champions, as well as CCEP's other partners, funders and stakeholders.

You can see the film here on the Coventry City Council YouTube channel, and we'll be sharing it widely on other platforms, including CCEP socials.

Capulet's BallPlease feel free to use the film for staff meetings and CPD events, or just to find out more about our work over the last few years - particularly our Partnership Investment (PI) programme - and our exciting plans for the next few years.

The CCEP would like to thank all of the Cultural Champions, Steering Group members and other partners who took part in the film and of course our PI funders, Arts Connect and Coventry City Council.

If you'd like to see more in-depth films about our brilliant partnership working with Royal Opera House - which won a Gold award in last year's Pearson Teaching Awards - you can watch the ROH films that focus on our 'Romeo and Juliet' CPD programme and 'The Nutcracker' culmination event at Coventry Cathedral that featured hundreds of Coventry primary school students, teachers and families.

100 Brilliant Ideas

100 Brilliant Ideas

'100 Brilliant Ideas' to Spark Creativity is a free CCEP resource to inspire young people’s creativity.  It is a quick to use and easy to understand approach to prompt young people to access and use their natural creativity.  The ideas collected  were devised by artists, teachers and education  professionals, arts, cultural and heritage organisations and individuals with a commitment to developing creativity in young people.

The majority of the ideas are designed to allow a quick response without having to rely on a large number of resources, others might need some preparation and may even inspire a trip to a local arts, cultural or heritage venue. We have also included a directory of organisations and individuals you may want to connect with to take your ideas further.

We hope you find the 100 Brilliant Ideas a useful resource and importantly enjoy them, have fun with your young people and embrace the joy that creativity always brings!
