Partnership in Action

wokshopWe are an active partnership of teachers, artists, policy makers, practitioners and cultural organisations that works to:

  • Provide opportunities for the learning and cultural sectors to collaborate.
  • Give advice and support to organisations about how to creatively engage with culture in education and learning settings.
  • Offer quality CPD opportunities for teachers, artists, and other cultural workers
  • Create space for formal and informal conversations about cultural education
  • Co-ordinate a network of ‘Cultural Champions’ in education settings across Coventry
  • Regularly share information via events and digital platforms

Coventry was UK City of Culture in 2021 / 22 and the CCEP is working to ensure that all children and young people in our city benefit from the opportunities that this year brought.

Governance Group

The CCEP is governed by a CCEP Executive Group, which normally meets twice a term. Members are drawn from the wider CCEP membership and stakeholders.

The group is chaired by Mark Steele from Coventry Music.

Supporting the Executive Group are three action groups who meet to drive key areas of CCEP activity: Cultural Champions Group; Programmes Group; Equality, Diversity, Inclusivity (EDI) Group.

Members of Executive and Action Groups come from organisations including Positive Youth Foundation, Highly Sprung, the Belgrade Theatre, Culture Coventry, Culture Central, Coventry City Council, Coventry Music Service, Open Theatre, Coventry University and the University of Warwick. We also have representatives from a number of city primary, secondary and SEND schools. 

The current structure of CCEP has been developed following a recent Governance Review, to ensure the ongoing relevance and effectiveness of the partnership.

The CCEP Strategy

The CCEP Strategy was presented at the CCEP Conference at Coventry Transport Museum in July 2022. Download the relevant slides. The strategy focusses on 'Green Futures' and commits the CCEP to activities designed to: 

  • Make children’s lives better
  • Support well-being
  • Create opportunities for growth in attainment and transferable skills for the future
  • Work through partnership to remove barriers to access and participation
